CNPC First Oversea Refinery Celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the First Production Running

On the 16th May, Khartoum Refinery company(KRC), the first oversea refinery of China National Petroleum Corporation(CNPC), the joint venture between CNPC and Sudan, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first production running in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum.

KRC is acknowledged as “a shinning pearl at the east bank of Nile”. It not only makes outstanding contributions to the integration of upstream and downstream in petroleum industry but also plays an important role on enhancing two countries’ politics, economic, culture interaction, after the first production running.

KRC is filled with fluttering color flags and honored guests on the day of celebration. The celebration began with cutting the ribbon for the completion of Sour Water Stripping Unit, Training Center, Multi-media classroom and laboratory in the school for children of KRC employees, which is donated by CNPC. The shareholders of the two sides honored the person who had special contributions to KRC, and then the celebration party was held by Chinese and Sudanese employees.

China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corporation(CNODC) General Manager Bo Qiliang, as the representative of CNPC, attended the celebration. And he addressed that today’s brilliant achievements we had got are attributed to the endeavor of two countries’ petroleum workers. Although the workers had suffered many kinds of tough tests and inconceivable difficulties, they still had the firm dream and did hard work for reaching the KRC’s great goal which is “Providing clean energy, serving Sudan society” and constructed a word-leading petrochemical enterprise in the vast Gobi Desert.

Minister of Ministry of Energy and Mining(MEM), Finance Minister, MEM Minister Office Director and governor of Khartoum state attended the celebration. Chinese ambassador to Khartoum Li Chengwen was also invited.
