Sudan oil production to increase to 195,000 bpd by the end of 2012

The State Minister at the Ministry of Oil, Engineer Ali Ahmed Osman, announced that the north Sudan oil production would increase to 195,000 barrels per day (bpd) by the end of the year 2012.

   While inspecting progress of work at Balila oil field in south Kordofan Sunday, which is being operated by the Petro-energy Company, Engineer Osman said that the ministry has set plan to increase the field's production to reach 100,000 bpd by advent of the year 2012.

  The minister called on the companies working in the field to speed up the process for increasing oil production in the area which produces 60,000 bpd.

   He also inspected field accumulation center at Kia area the operations at which the operations would be completed within one month.
He referred to his ministry's determination to increase the oil production in the north Sudan in accordance with the set plan on completion of the projects that were commenced by the companies, calling for expulsion of the companies not to complete their projects in fixed time and replacing them with other companies.

   Engineer Osman got assured on the work progress in the main electricity station at the site as well as the new Balila airport which is expected to be inaugurated in next March.

   He also held a meeting with the workers at the Technology Company touching production status and exploration, besides the security situation and social services provided by the companies to the citizens in the area, appreciating the role of the national and foreign companies, top of them are the Chinese companies.

    He urged the operating companies to multiply their efforts and to work to increase the oil production at square 6.
